About Us
Regenerative Energy Initiative (formerly Sustainable Energy Fund) is a Pennsylvania-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing a regenerative energy future. We work to overcome financial, educational, and regulatory barriers while enabling action through financing, education, partnerships, and innovative tools that support resilient communities and long-term energy solutions.
Founded in 1999 through a Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission settlement during electric deregulation, our organization has evolved from supporting sustainable energy projects to advancing energy systems that renew, revitalize, and regenerate environmental, economic, and social systems.
Today, Regenerative Energy Initiative provides commercial financing, administers C-PACE programs, invests in innovative energy solutions, delivers educational initiatives, and convenes industry leaders through programs such as EnergyPath, one of the Mid-Atlantic region's premier energy conferences.
Our mission remains rooted in helping organizations and communities take meaningful action toward a stronger, more resilient energy future.
