Wes' first book\, The Other Wes Moore\, a perennial New York Times bestseller\, captured the nation's attention on the fine line between success and failure in our communities and in ourselves. That story has been optioned by executive producer Oprah Winfrey and HBO to be made into a movie. He is also the author of the bestselling books The Work\, Discovering Wes Moore\, and This Way Home. His newest book\, Five Days: The Fiery reckoning of an American City was released in April and is expected to be another bestseller. The book explores the uprisings in Baltimore in 2015 after the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody through a kaleidascope of perspectives and examines critical questions about the deeper causes of violence and poverty.\n\n\n\nWes grew up in Baltimore and the Bronx\, where he was raised by a single mom. Despite childhood challenge\, he earned an MLitt in International Relations from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar in 2004. Wes then served as a captain and paratrooper with the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne\, including a combat deployment to Afghanistan. He later served as a White House Fellow to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.\n\n \n\nBefore becoming CEO at Robin Hood\, Wes was the founder and CEO at BridgeEdU\, an innovative tech platform addressing the college completion and job placement crisis.\n\n \n\n\n\n \nThank you to our Sponsors:\n\n \n \n\nTITLE SPONSORS\n \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nPLATINUM SPONSORS\n\nMet-Ed\, A FirstEnergy Company\n\n \n \n\nGOLD SPONSORS\n\nHerbein + Company\, Inc.\n\nRKL LLP\n\n\n\nSilver Sponsors\n\nAshley Furniture Industries\, Inc.\n\nBB&T now Truist\n\nCustomers Bank\n\nEthosource Office Furniture / Wyatt Seating\\\n\nFirstLight\n\nM&T Bank\n\nPenske\n\nUnique Pretzel Bakery\n\n\n\nBronze Sponsors\n\nBogia Engineering\, Inc.\n\nEast Penn Manufacturing Company\, Inc.\n\nFulton Bank\n\nLevan Machine and Truck Equipment\n\nMembers 1st Federal Credit Union\n\nMitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials\n\nRaser Industries\, LLC\n\nTRIOSE\n\nWFMZ-TV69 \n\n\n\nPatron Sponsors\n\nAlvernia University\n\nBerks County Living\n\nEG Smith\, Inc.\n\nEnerSys\n\nFraser Advanced Information Systems\n\nLaughing Rock Technology\n\nMosteller & Associates\n\nRothenberger Insurance Services\, LLC\n\nStevens & Lee/Griffin\n\nStrunk Media Group\n\nTompkins VIST Bank\n\nTranslogistics Inc.\n\nUGI Energy Services\n\nWeidenhammer\n\n\n\nBerks Benefactor\n\nD&B Construction\n\nVISIONS Federal Credit Union\n\n\nAdditional sponsorship opportunities for your business marketing and networking needs are available by contacting Rachael Romig at rromig@greaterreading.org.
